Performer
Rhonda performed on viola in symphonies, orchestras, and quartets during the first decades of her career. In 2008 she began growing her expertise in Celtic and Appalachian fiddle music with her band The Mountain Laurels. More recently Rhonda began performing on electric cello and violin with her band the Paisley Moon trio.
The Mountain Laurels
The Mountain Laurels formed as a Celtic Appalachian fiddle band in 2008. They have release two CDs of traditional Celtic music and original tunes and enjoyed over 10 years of airplay on Pandora and various streaming music services worldwide. The Mountain Laurels performs in the High Country of North Carolina at festivals, wineries, weddings and local venues. They are currently working on their 3rd album "Overlook Ahead". This compilation of original tunes is fashioned to celebrate scenic locations along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Paisley Moon Trio
Paisley Moon began performing in June 2020. The group's repertoire includes original indy/folk and hits from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Paisley Moon alternates their performance venues from Boone, NC to New Smyrna Beach, Fl. The band features recording artist Angela Sterling Forest on vocals and Elaine Gray on guitar. The group is scheduled to release their first album of original tunes in 2023.
Quartets
Rhonda performs with quartets for weddings and formal occasions.
